The Next Adventure

March 1 will find me in a new city. This city, to be exact.

Yep, I'm moving to Washington D.C. To do what, I'm not exactly sure. But the details are coming together quickly and, once again, the Lord has richly provided for me, down to even the small details.

The quick story on how I came to find two amazingly awesome girls to live with: on a roommate website. I know. Sounds creepy.

Now here's the longer version: I e-mailed Future Roomie about the room because it sounded like a reasonable price in a great part of the city and in her post she said she attends Capitol Hill Baptist Church, which is where I'll most likely attend. In my e-mail, I included a very brief description of me: I graduated from UT, lived in Uganda for six months, am Texan, and have a friend, Natalie, who attended CHBC when she lived in D.C.

Her response came a day later, with a brief description of herself: she's Texan, went to school in Tennessee, loves Africa, and knows the same dear Natalie. How cool is that??? We talked yesterday about details and it just sounds perfect. I'm ridiculously excited!

The house is a 1909 row house in Capitol Hill (a really nice area of D.C.).  I'll have my own bedroom (which includes bright green walls) with hardwood floors and general 1909-era cuteness. It's just a couple blocks from the Metro, so I won't need a car and I still can't get over the fact that I'm affordably living IN the District!

So today, as I enter three weeks of what is sure to be hectic planning, packing, and organizing, I am really just thankful.  I have been praying the last couple weeks that the Lord would work out the details of the move so that it was unmistakeably HIM that was orchestrating. I am so amazed at how wonderfully He surprised me and I can't wait to see what He has in store next!

More details to come...
