Yuck! I've been reading your blog every few days and kind of get wistful about going and serving over there or somewhere far away like you are... but then there's the reality check that you so graciously posted :-) I don't envy tarantula's in my house one bit! Ashley, please know that I'm thinking and praying for you often. I love getting to read about your experience as it's happening. This blog journal is not only an encouragement to all of us "followers" right now, but will be for you for many years to come. Keep a copy on your computer or somewhere too. You'll be amazed to see how God continues to use and build on these amazing lessons and experiences you're living right now. With love and prayers, LeAnn
That's from LeAnn Roberts. I'm not sure where it got "Our team" from. I'll have to poke around and figure out how to fix that one day soon.
And Ash, I would also covet your prayers for us. The girls living with us, Jackie and Jasmine play in the girls basketball state championship this Thursday-Saturday. We're excited for them. And I've been doing a Bible reading with them every few days. I'd love it if you would pray with us for God's word to begin to soak in and the "fog" to be lifted from their (spiritual) eyes.
OMGOSH!... I have always wanted to live in Africa for a bit, but this picture makes me reconsider... Honestly, who had the guts to deal with that thing???
I'm so glad I didn't have to sleep with it. The insects/bugs in Uganda seem to like me for some reason, and I'm sure this guy wouldn't have been any different... except, instead of punching me in the face like the worm bugs, it would have bitten me.

Who was the lucky one to remove it from the house? I am glad not everything in Texas is big especially, not our spiders!
